Dosal and Wilson Appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Miami Branch Board of Directors

Alberto Dosal, chairman, Compuquip Technologies Inc., and Millar Wilson, president and chief executive officer, Mercantil Commercebank, have been appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Miami Branch. Their terms begin Jan. 1, 2013, and run through Dec. 31, 2015.

Dosal has served as chief executive officer of Compuquip Technologies Inc. since 1980. He previously worked for the Burroughs Corporation and General Electric Timesharing Services. Dosal is a member of the boards of directors of Compuquip Technologies Inc., Blue Wave Communications Inc., BrightGauge Software Inc. and Capital America Inc. He is vice chairman of the board of the Technology Foundation of the Americas, a chairman circle member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and chairman elect for 2012-2013. Dosal is a lifetime member of the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Inner Circle and Alumni Association and founder of the Florida Atlantic University Football Program.

Dosal received his bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1973 and associate's degree from Miami Dade Junior College in 1971. His honors include Miami Dade College Hall of Fame in 2011 and FAU Talon Award Recipient for Outstanding Leadership in 2000.

Wilson has served as president and chief executive officer of Mercantil Commercebank since 2009. He has been with the bank's parent company, Mercantil Servicios Financieros, for 35 years and has held key strategic and leadership positions within the company in the U.S., the Americas and Europe. Previously, he worked at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in London from 1973 to 1977.

Wilson is a member of the board of directors of Enterprise Florida Inc. He is chairman of Mercantil Commercebank Investment Services, Mercantil Commercebank Trust Company and Mercantil Bank & Trust (Cayman). He is also executive president of Mercantil Bank (Curacao) and Mercantil Bank (Panama). He is a member of the executive committee of Mercantil Servicios Financieros and Mercantil Banco Universal. He is former chairman of the American Red Cross of Greater Miami and the Keys and former director and treasurer of the Miami Dade College Foundation.

Wilson received his bachelor's degree in business and administrative studies from Bradford University in England in 1973 and certification from the Harvard Business School, Program for Management Development in 1992.

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta branch directors provide economic information from their industries and the branch territory to the district bank's president and head office directors, who use the information in formulating monetary policy and making discount rate recommendations. Dosal was appointed by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. Wilson was appointed by the Atlanta Fed's board of directors. The Board of Governors appoints three Miami Branch directors, and the Atlanta head office directors appoint four.
